Should I do anything before sending you my damaged card? Once you've decided to send your card to , don't do anything further to the card. How long does it take? Most files from cards can be recovered within 24 to 48 hours from the time they are received. Occasionally, more difficult recoveries can take 3-5 business days. There is no additional charge for premium service.

What is the success rate? Historically, files from over 95% of cards are recovered if picture data is present. Successful recovery of deleted files or formatted cards is camera-dependent. Some camera use full zeroing formats (e.g. Fuji, Sony, and Olympus) that overwrite the data and cannot recovered.

Can I recover the deleted/damaged files myself? Yes it may be possible if you use an image recovery program like ImageRecall which does not write to the card in any way. Be careful, some general file utility recovery programs (e.g. Norton Undelete) can write incorrect file descriptors to the card and cause the actual data content to become garbled. This makes a secondary recovery process more difficult or impossible.

Do you do anything to the card before it is returned? We do not modify or format the card in any way. Our recovery process is non-destructive and does not require writing to the card. Recovered files are extracted and sent to you via CD or email.

These are the actual full size images not just thumbnails. These recovered images can be edited or saved. The Demo version has all the same basic recovery feature as the Full version, only with a ten image recovery limit.

What are the system requirements? ImageRecall 3 runs on Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000 or Mac OS 9.1 or later, and requires 32MB RAM (128MB for Windows XP or Mac OS/X), 8MB hard disk space, plus additional drive space for recovered images. Our expert technicians have years of experience recovering lost data from flash memory cards. They will thoroughly evaluate your card, extract your images or data from the card where possible using state-of-the-art equipment, perform a quality check of the recovered images, and finally copy the files to a Recovery CD. Both Recovery CD and your flash memory card are returned to you for one flat fee.

My card is plugged into the camera and connected to the computer via a USB cable. Why can't ImageRecall 3 find the letter drive? ImageRecall 3 requires a standard USB card reader or PCMCIA adapter to recognize the memory card. Camera manufacturers often use their own proprietary interface that launches their own imaging software. These custom USB interfaces do not behave in a standard way, for example these cards are not visible as a removable media drive from Windows My Computer.

ImageRecall 3 is getting back images and pictures not from my camera. How come? Verify that you have selected the removable media drive in Step 1. Some customers have instead selected their C: drive as their drive to be recovered. Not only does is this not recommended (because recovered files are saved on the C: drive) but unexpected images from the Internet cache and elsewhere may appear! Erase the Recovered Images and try again, this time selecting the removable media drive.

After using ImageRecall 3, I have thousands of read errors, but no recovered images. What next? Contact our Customer Service department for a free consultation. The card likely has corrupted sectors that prevent normal access by the computer's operating system. You may be asked to send your card to FlashFixers image Recovery Labs where their specialized equipment may be able to bypass the corruption and recover your images.

Why am I getting an LBC error when I try to run ImageRecall 3? The card is not being recognized by ImageRecall 3. Check to make sure that you have selected in ImageRecall 3, Step 1 the letter drive of the removable media and are using a card reader or adapter. If the memory card is dead and completely non-responsive, you may also get this error message.

Will ImageRecall 3 work for hard drives? ImageRecall 3 is optimized for recovery from removable media especially flash memory cards. It will work with other types of removable media including hard drives and USB memory drives. ImageRecall 3 is not recommended for hard drive recovery of the C: or main drive, because the recovered image are saved there. However it will work satisfactorily with other internal external hard drives.

Digital Photo Recovery Advisor

FlashFixers can help you determine the chances of recovering your lost pictures quickly and easily through its Recovery Advisor. Just answer the questions below and follow the recommended steps. If you are asked to run the ImageRecall demo, do so by having a separate card reader or adapter ready.

1. Did you erase, delete, or format the pictures from your flash memory card in your camera?

2. Is your media a SmartMedia, xD Picture Card, or Memory Stick?

If you answered NO to either question, go to Question 3.

If you answered YES to both question, your pictures were most likely erased by the camera. The camera's deletion or format operation completely overwrites the flash memory card with blanks, making a recovery impossible. This has been noted with Sony, Olympus, Fuji, and other cameras. To confirm, download and run the ImageRecall demo. If 0 lost pictures are recovered after 100% completion, it is doubtful that any pictures are recoverable.

3. Is your card recognized as a removable media drive by the Windows or Mac Operating System using a card reader or adapter?

If YES, run the ImageRecall demo and try to recover the lost pictures.

If you answered NO and your card is not responding (or freezes your system), recovery is less likely - but may still be possible. Contact FlashFixers for further recovery options. You will have to send in your card for further evaluation.

4. After using ImageRecall, does recovery fail because of excessive read errors?

If YES, there may be one or more bad sectors on the card that prevent ImageRecall from accessing the card. You should contact FlashFixers and be prepared to send your card in to their ImageRecovery Labs for further evaluation and recovery. If no images are recovered and there are no read errors, your card was probably erased somehow. Contact FlashFixers to confirm your results and for more information.
